Carrier rods are a bi-product from silk spinning and are useful in embroidery, fusion, papermaking and felt making. Pulling them apart reveals a gorgeous thatching of the fibres. Carrier rods add depth and texture to my wo0odland scenes.
Flax fiber is extracted from the skin of the stem of the flax plant. Flax fiber is soft, flexible and lustrous; bundles of fiber have the appearance of hair, hence the description “flaxen”..

Silk Throwsters waste is a by-product of silk production and consists of a bundle of fibres. It can be teased out or used to give texture in in creative work to give depth and texture.

Pyrite is a very common mineral, found in a wide variety of geological formations from sedimentary deposits to hydrothermal veins and as a constituent of metamorphic rocks. The brassy-yellow metallic colour of Pyrite as seen in the centre of this pendant has in many cases lead to people mistaking it for gold hence the common nickname ‘Fool’s Gold’. Pyrite is quite easy to distinguish from Gold, it is much lighter, but harder. Spiritual properties: Pyrite is a stone of intellect and protection. It enhances intelligence, mental stability, logic, analysis, creativity, memory, and psychic development. It can help you tap your own latent mental talents and abilities. Pyrite is a powerful protection stone, and is very grounding. Pyrite is also known as Fool’s Gold and Healer’s Gold.
Fluorite is a calcium fluoride, it is a beautiful crystal with a great range of healing properties. Fluorite is found in many different colors but most commonly occurs in shades of purple and green with clear bands. Many different colors can be found in the same stone Fluorite crystal is believed to stabilize and cleanse the aura, while absorbing and neutralizing both stress and negative energy. Fluorite is a crystal associated with focus and clarity and is said to balance the third eye chakra for lucidity of thought and focus to mental processes it can be used to increase concentration. On a physical level, fluorite is believed to boost the immune system and stimulate cell regeneration, particularly for skin, respiratory system and self-healing.
